Elevator Training Programmes
The findings of the Elevator Irish National Dementia Educational Needs Analysis (2014) have informed the work of the Dementia Elevator project. Building on this report we have devised a number of different training programmes focused on building skills in the community to support people with dementia.
How much will it cost?
All of our online training programmes are completely free. The blended learning degree level education is free to HSE staff and offered at a reduced rate to non-HSE staff.
How will the training be delivered?
The free, online training programmes for carers and customer facing services can be taken in one, or a number of sittings. Facilitator’s resource packs are available to those who wish to deliver the programmes in a group setting. We encourage organisations to identify a staff member who could deliver the training using the facilitator’s resource packs and where commitment is high we may be able to offer train the trainer programmes.
We recommend that organisations place Elevator’s training links on company websites, as our key objective is to ensure that the resources are freely accessible and available to those who wish to learn more about supporting people affected by dementia.
Elevator’s 12 week degree level modules; Dementia Champions: Person Centred Dementia Care, Therapeutic Responses to People with Dementia and Dementia and Everyday Ethics are delivered via blended learning; online with some face to face classroom work.
